I bought some stationery a couple of weeks ago, and got a new fountain pen on January 24th. The combination of the two inevitably leads to my writing letters to people. I find a certain ineffable satisfaction in putting pen to paper and composing a personal letter. The result may not be as polished as something I've composed, typed, and copyedited -- my letters are replete with crossed-out words, misspellings, and the occasional illegible parts -- but they take on a certain elegance that a word-processed block of text lacks.
For this letter, I picked run-of-the-mill Crane & Co. stationery and a Pelikan M200 fountain pen with a medium nib. It's a good combination.
